- Mercury Part Number 43-26215 43-26214 Forward and pinion gear set, used on Mark 78 models. (and possibly others).
- NOTE: Two different sets of pinion and propeller gears were used on Mark 78 engines. Caution must be taken when replacement of these gears is made because of variation in the gear ratio. Please check serial numbers listed below befor any replacements are made....
- 14:27 Ratio, Serial 1145479 to 1145537 incl. & 1145583 to 1146371 incl.
- So on the flip-side 43-27891 & 43-27889 were the 14:28 ratio gears found on:
- 1143038 to 1145478 incl. & 1145538 to 1145582 incl. & 1146372 and up.
