Item Details

  • For use with all Stringer 400 / 800 (4cyl / V6 / V8 2.5L 120hp, 3.0L 140hp, 3.8L, 4.3L, 5.0L 305, 5.7L 350 outdrives 1982-1986
    • 1978-1981 Used a completely different housing & shift cable that operated in the complete opposite manner, so please don't mix these up as these are in no way interchangeable. If you are unsure on which year your unit is, please message me.
  • Includes Shift cable assembly GLM 27930 (Replacement for 982563)
    • It's a technically a new cable assembly. GLM discontinued these after a few years because the casing was more fragile than the original ones which could lead to water intrusion & rust over time if care wasn't taken during installation. This cable is probably from the early 2000's.
    • There is some material missing on this and a small crack in the rubber (see last pictures) you could use that liquid electircal tape, but both of those issue areas are technically inside the boat, so not exposed directly to water.
