- Lower Unit Gearcase Propeller Shaft Found on OMC Stringer 1982-1983.... Could be used on Johnson Evinrude V6 outboards 1979-1983
- Basically this is the 982416 shaft without the hole provision for hydro-mechanical (1978-1981) shift OMC Stringer Drives.
- At some point in 1984 they switched over the design which looks slightly different than this and that updated design is usually stamped 395209
- Overall Good Condition, please see pictures for best idea of condition.

- Propeller Shaft Assembly Stamped 389957 (NOT Provisioned for the long spring that goes in the end of it for Hydro-Mechanical shift)
- Does not Replace a shaft stamped 982416.
- For Fully-Mechanical Shift applications only.
Compatibility
- OMC Stringer V6 & V8 1980-1983 models Fully Mechanical Shift Models because 389957 is NOT provisioned for the hydro-mechanical shift spring, whereas 982416 is this same shaft externally except it is drilled internally for the hydro-mechanical shift spring.
