For use with all Stringer 400 / 800 (4cyl / V6 / V8 2.5L 120hp, 3.0L 140hp, 3.8L, 4.3L, 5.0L 305, 5.7L 350 outdrives 1982-1986
- 1978-1981 Used a completely different housing & shift cable that operated in the complete opposite manner, so please don't mix these up as these are in no way interchangeable. If you are unsure on which year your unit is, please message me.
Includes Shift cable assembly 982802 (The same as 982563) and shifter housing 910460 (Equivalent to 982789) already attached, ready to bolt on.
- PLEASE NOTE The cable on this has a split in the rubber around where it comes through the middle of the gearcase. The cable still functions normally, this area should be repaired before use, You could either use that liquid electrical tape along with some heat shrink tubing and that should be an suitable repair. Unfortunately some wear in this area of the cables is common. Rubber is still soft & supple otherwise.
